Singapore National Day is just around the corner, on August 9th. More than a decade ago, new theme songs are selected for every National Day celebration. I had met someone at Toronto Japanese School many years ago. During our conversation, I came to learn that he is a Singaporean who is not able to return to his place of birth for a reason that I did not ask but I could guess. Unfortunately, we have lost contact but I believe till today, he is still out there waiting for his chance to step on his homeland once again...
